Celebrate Ontario!

It's Ontario week at the Library! Did you know the official flower of Ontario is the white trillium?

We have a lot going on at the Library this week! There is still room in all of our activities. If you'd like to register your child for any of these, come pay us a visit. And of course, don't forget to bring your SRC bookmark to log your child's reading hours with us!

Activities: Week of July 17

Knitty Library (ages 9-99) – $2 for members, $5 for non-members (price is for the entire session)
Tuesday July 18 from 2 to 3:30 p.m.
Help us create a knitted masterpiece!

Get Your Read On! (ages 7-12) – free, registration required
Wednesday July 19 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Practice your reading with a senior volunteer during weekly reading sessions.

Des animaux au poil! - bilingual activity (ages 5-12) – $2 for members, $5 for non-members
Wednesday, July 19 from 2 to 3 p.m.
Mammals walk, fly, climb, and swim, but how do we tell them apart? Furs, skulls, life-like animal models and other surprises await you! (Activity animated by GUEPE.)

I Will be... an Architect (ages 12-17) – $2 for members, $5 for non-members
Wednesday, July 19 from 7 to 8 p.m.
Admit it, LEGO is fun for teens too. Come experiment with LEGO to learn the basics of structural engineering.

Family Story Time (ages 0-6) – free, drop-in
Thursday July 20 from 10 to 10:30 a.m.
Listen to stories and sing songs as a family!

Great Inventions : Make Your Own Glow Stick (ages 7-12) – $2 for members, $5 for non-members
Thursday, July 20 from 2 to 3 p.m.
How much do you know about chemistry? Learn fascinating things, then participate in a fun science lab. (Activity animated by the McGill University Institute of Parasitology.)

Paint Like... Lawren Harris (ages 3-12) – free, drop-in
Friday July 21 at 10 and 11 a.m.
Each week come discover a Canadian artist. Then, learn how to make your own masterpiece in their style!
