It’s Christmas Eve. Noëlla la has so much work to do! She does not want to disturb her husband, Santa Claus, who is also very busy! Maybe she could ask the Christmas genie to help her? The genie agrees, but he needs to use all the Christmas magic to grant all of Noëlla’s wishes.  But without Christmas magic, nothing works! Children, with the help of Manu, will need to tell Christmas stories to bring back the Christmas magic.

Dear Santa...

It's finally here!

Santa's magical postbox arrived this morning, directly from the North Pole! It was expedited by the elves who specialize in super speedy deliveries.

You can find the mailbox at the library entrance. You will also find paper and pencils you can use to writer your letter to Santa, who will write back to you as soon as he can!

As soon as his answer arrives, Santa's chief communications elf will call you so you can pick it up at the library.

Santa is looking forward to reading your letter, from the whole team at the North Pole (and at the Beaconsfield Library), have a very happy holiday season!

Monsters have invaded the library, looking for Halloween treats! Monsters aren’t very smart, so we have created some riddles to confuse the monsters and help you beat them to the treats. Come in costume if you don’t want the monsters to recognize you!

Come to the circulation desk to see this jar and guess how many individually wrapped packages of candy are in it. The person with the exact or closest guess wins the entire jar of candy!

Sunday, September 30 Free, drop-in activities From 1 to 5 p.m., in the children’s reference section, for all ages! Come and have fun with words! Instructions and materials will be available all day! Blackout Poetry, for you to keep or to hang on our Poetry Banner Haikus, yours to keep or to hang on our Poetry Banner Contribute to the Library’s Exquisite Corpse game. We had a great reading party yesterday; so many of you came out to enjoy the fun! Thank you for your enthusiastic participation and your 5 310.5 hours of reading! Thank you for making this summer our best summer ever!

Reminder: Summer Reading Wrap-Up Party

Don't forget! Our amazing summer reading party is taking place on Thursday, August 16 at 2 p.m. at Centennial (we're expecting nice weather)! There will be treats, prize draws, and a fantastic tam-tam show presented by Kattam!

Can you believe it? The Summer Reading Club is almost over! We can't believe it either. It went by so quickly, and we have had so much fun! 

Now it's time to celebrate the 4 000+ hours read by Beaconsfield kids! We have planned a  big party to thank you for your enthusiastic participation this summer!

Here is the important information you need to know for the 2018 TD Summer Reading wrap-up party: 

•  Date: Thursday, August 16
• Time: the party begins at  2 p.m., but try to arrive for 1:30 p.m.!
• Show: Kattam and his Tam-Tams! 
• Reading certificates, door prizes, grand prize draw and prizes for the best readers in each category!

As you can see, it's an event you won't want to miss!

Hobbies and adventures

We all have something we are passionate about, that we like to do as much as possible. It could be artistic, like music and dance, or a sport like soccer or tennis, or even traveling to discover new places. The most important thing is to feed these passions so that they can grow.
