We Love Reading and Writing!

Ah, books! How we love them here at the library! For there to be books to enjoy, it takes someone to write them, and someone to read them! And you, Summer Reading Club members, you must love books too! Have you ever thought about writing a book?

In case you haven't guessed, next week, from July 30 to August 5, our theme will be Literary Art!

Here is a schedule of the activities that will be taking place at the library next week:

For the whole family (free, drop-in)

• Monday July 30 from 2 to 3 p.m.: DUPLO & LEGO Club (ages 3 to 12) - Come show us your building skills!
• Tuesday, July 31 from 11 to 11:30 a.m.: Storytime at Windermere Park – Stories, songs, and rhymes!
• Thursday, August 2 from 10 to 10:30 a.m. : Family Storytime – Stories, songs, and rhymes!
• Friday, August 3 from 10 to 11 a.m.: Crafty Friday – Black-out poetry!
• Friday, August 3 from 2 to 2:30 p.m.: Storytime at Beacon Hill Park – Stories, songs, and rhymes!

For preschoolers:

•  Tuesday, July 31 from 2 to 3 p.m.:  Choose Your Own Adventure! (ages 4 to 8) – Come listen to Jake, our favourite storyteller, and help him choose which way the story will go! Registration required at the library. ($2 for members)

For school-aged children:

• Monday, July 30 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.: Monday Evening LEGO and Craft (ages 7 to 12) - Come do the weekly LEGO challenge or make a craft! Free, drop-in.
• Wednesday. August 1, from 2 to 3:30 p.m.: Knitting Club (ages 7 to 12) – Learn to knit and make a scarf for your favourite stuffed animal! Free, drop-in.
• Thursday, August 2 from 2 to 3 p.m.: Manga Workshop (ages 6 to 12) – Let yourself be inspired by graphic novels and comic books, then create your own visual story!  Registration required at the library. ($2 for members). 

For teens:

• Tuesday, July 31 at 6:30 p.m.: Movie: Dans une galaxie près de chez vous. In French, with English sub-titles. Free, drop-in.
