Science and technology? Yes, please!

We're already in the third week of the Summer Reading Club, and we're very impressed by your participation! Beaconsfield has already read more than 450 hours, and this is just the beginning! Keep it up!

Next week, from July 9 to 15, our theme will be Science and Technology!

Here is a schedule of the activities that will be taking place at the library next week:

For the whole family (free, drop-in)

• Monday, July 9, from 2 to 3 p.m.: DUPLO and LEGO Club (ages 3 to 12) - Come show us your building skills! 
• Tuesday, July 10, from 11 to 11:30 a.m.: Storytime at Windermere Park – Stories, songs, and rhymes.
• Thursday, July 12, from 10 to 10:30 a.m. : Family Storytime – Stories, songs, and rhymes.
• Friday, July 13 from 10 to 11 a.m.: Crafty Friday – Create a robot using popsicle sticks.
• Friday, July 13 from 2 to 2:30 p.m.: Storytime at Beacon Hill Park – Stories, songs, and rhymes.

For preschoolers 

•  Tuesday, July 10 from 10:30 to noon:  Robot Tales (ages 4 to 8, presented by Jake the storyteller, in English) – Come listen to some fantastic robot stories! Registration required at the library. ($2 for members)

  

For school-aged children 

• Monday, July 9 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.: Monday Night LEGO and Craft (ages 7 to 12) - Come to the weekly LEGO challenge or make a craft!
• Tuesday, July 10 from 2 to 3 p.m.: Crime Lab (ages 6 to 8) - Discover how the police catches the bad guys in our crime lab! Fingerprints, DNA, and more!
• Tuesday, July 10 from 4 to 4 p.m.: Crime Lab (ages 9 to 12) - Discover how the police catches the bad guys in our crime lab! Fingerprints, DNA, and more!
• Wednesday, July 11 from 2 to 3:30 p.m.: Knitting Club (ages 7 to 12) – Learn to knit by making a scarf for your plushie! Free, drop-in.
• Thursday, July 12 from 1:30 to 3 p.m.: Drone Workshop (ages 6 to 12) – Come try different kinds of robots! Registration required at the library. ($2 for members). FULL - you can still put your name on the waiting list!

For teens 

• Tuesday, July 10 at 6:30 p.m.: Movie: Le journal d'Aurélie Laflamme. In French, with English subtitles. Free, drop-in.
